Lithuanian pilots Steponas Darius and Stasys Girėnas are preparing for what will become a legendary flight over the Atlantic Ocean in 1933. Their goal is to take off from New York City in their small single-engine plane Lituanica and land in the Lithuanian capital of Kaunas. The film shows the heroic persistence of two Lithuanians who are dreaming to see their homeland again and who are determined to fight for its honour by going on a dangerous 37-hour-long journey.
