Three Lithuanian projects selected for virtual edition of “Eastern Promises”

2020-07-03

Three Lithuanian projects will participate at the virtual edition of Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) “Eastern Promises” Industry Days.

Lithuanian-Norwegian project “Burial” by director Emilija Škarnulyte  will compete for “Eurimages Lab Project Award”.  Film invites the viewer for an immersive sensorial trip to see the entire cycle of nuclear fuel: from uranium mines to burial sites for contaminated ruins. This cycle never really ends, even though it’s obviously self-destructive.

The second session of  “First Cut+”, a programme that aims to boost the competitiveness and marketability of feature films, among 16 participants selected “I am Fine, Thanks” by director Ernestas Jankauskas (prod. Gabija Siurbytė, Dansu) and Lithuanian-Czech “Runner” by Andrius Blazevicius (prod. Marija Razgutė, M-Films). Participating projects will have 3 days of consultations on promotion followed by an online Works-in-progress session.

The production of the presented films is supported by the Lithuanian Film Center.
