Lithuanian Film Centre Announced Production and Development Grants for 2019 2nd Session

The Lithuanian Film Centre has distributed € 1 271 245  at its second session of financing for 2019. In all, 36 film projects received funding for production and development. 

The government has allocated €874,525 for the production of 20 films, including one feature film, four documentaries, seven shorts and six minority co-productions.

The grant of €30,000 went to the director Emilis Vėlyvis‘ feature film “Piktųjų karta”, produced by Kino kultas.

Funding was also allocated for four documentaries: “Medžioklė“(dir. A. Stonytė, production company Ultra Nominum) and “Sutkografija“ (dir. V. Landsbergis, production company “Studija A Propos”), “Modernus butas” (production company „Just A Moment“), “Stebuklo belaukiant” (production company VšĮ Aloyzo Jančoro videoantologija).

Among the projects that received production grants are seven shorts: two fiction films, three documentaries, one animated and one interactive film. The sum to be divided among the seven projects totals almost €199,690.

The grant of €507,800 will be split among six minority co-production projects: three feature films, two documentaries and one animated film.

The Lithuanian Film Centre has also allotted 16 development grants totalling €331,720. This funding for film development went to three features, five documentaries and three animated films, while five projects received support for script development.

To summarise the results of the two funding sessions, organised by the Lithuanian Film Centre, for film production and development this year, 81 film projects received government support totalling €4 106 562,94.
