Director Vytautas Katkus' film "The Visitor" receives Eurimages support

Eurimages, the cultural support fund of the Council of Europe, has announced 24 projects that will receive support from the fund. The list of supported projects includes director Vytautas Katkus' debut feature film "The Visitor".

The film "The Visitor" received 210 thousand euros in support from the Eurimages fund. The project is a co-production between Lithuania (M-Films, produced by Marija Razgutė and Brigita Beniušytė), Norway (Staer, produced by Elisa Fernanda Pirir), and Sweden (Garagefilm International, produced by Anna-Maria Kantarius).

The list of funded projects also includes a co-production between Denmark, Lithuania, and Sweden "Woman, Unknown" (directed by May el-Toukhy), which received 349 thousand euros in support.

During this Eurimages session, 24 feature film projects were supported, including 4 documentaries and 1 animation. A total of 6.78 million euros were awarded to the projects.

Eurimages is the cultural support fund of the Council of Europe, established in 1988, which aims to support the co-production of films by European countries, and the distribution and exhibition of European cinema. 39 member states participate in the fund's activities. Lithuania became a member of Eurimages in 2007.
