Classic Lithuanian films will help international students learn Lithuanian language

2020-09-11

The Lithuanian Film Center has joined the Vilnius University, along with partners the Vytautas Magnus University and The Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore, in a project dedicated to “Encouragement of collaboration between International Baltic Study Centres and Lithuanian Academic Research Institutions”. From now own, classic Lithuanian films will be used for teaching Lithuanian to speakers of other languages.

The project for international students learning Lithuanian in Lithuania and in 40 Baltic Study Centres world-wide will take place until July 2021. During the run of the project 10 films will be screened. It is hoped, that the classic Lithuanian films, which have received international recognition, and were selected in Lithuania will not only aid in figuring out the subtle nuances of the Lithuanian language, but also in identifying Lithuanian culture, and revealing historical development.
