Laimonas Ubavičius has been appointed as director of the Lithuanian Film Centre. He was selected from the two candidates who received the highest scores in a competition organized by the Civil Service Department under the Ministry of the interior of the Republic of Lithuania.

The 24th edition of Rhode Island International Film Festival has ended and announced its winners. Lithuanian Cinematographer Saulius Lukoševičius, who is currently studying in Los Angeles, was awarded the Best Cinematography Award for his short film UNFOLDED.

The Locarno Film Festival is moving into the vintage cinema space. The Swiss fest’s “Locarno Pro” industry component is launching “Heritage Online”, a first-of-its-kind platform that will serve as a database of film titles that premiered prior to 2005.
