Lithuanian films and culture will receive special attention at CinEast film festival in Luxembourg as Lithuania becomes this year’s guest country. Cinema lovers will have a chance to do so as Lithuania brings seven films of various genres, organizes meetings with filmmakers and invites to a photo exhibition as well as a concert.
Lithuania becomes the center of attention at BEAST International Film Festival which brings Eastern European and Baltic cinema to Porto. This year Lithuania is the festival’s main country-partner and will offer an exhaustive program that focuses on both, contemporary and heritage Lithuanian cinema. The festival visitors will be able to see 24 Lithuanian films and retrospectives, meet the most prominent filmmakers and visit an art exhibition dedicated to Lithuanian cinema.
SOFA – School of Film Advancement continues its mission to support the realization of film-related projects in Europe
For the second time SOFA – School of Film Advancement will hold a workshop in Vilnius, Lithuania from September 17-21, 2019. Here, selected SOFA alumni will get the chance to present their projects in front of experienced private investors and representatives of European public film funds. This way SOFA offers its participants and their cultural projects direct access to potential financing partners from the public and private sector.read more
Lithuanian Oscars Committee announced its selection for this year’s Academy Awards: it’s a Lithuanian-Latvian-Estonian documentary essay Bridges of Time (lit. Laiko tiltai) brought by directors Audrius Stonys (Lithuania) and Kristīne Briede (Latvia).
Lithuanian filmmakers return to Venice: after a long break, Lithuanian titles and names will be heard at the main program of the film festival. Two feature films celebrating authors and talents are featured at the festival’s program this week.
