“Porto/Post/Doc” pays tribute to Lithuanian documentary maker Stonys

This year Portugal’s documentary festival “Porto/Post/Doc” will pay special attention to Lithuanian documentary filmmaker Audrius Stonys. The festival goers will be able to watch director’s retrospective and other Lithuanian films that influenced his work. In total 14 Lithuanian films will be screened at the festival. Stonys will also attend the festival.

Latest Lithuanian films and projects to compete in Tallinn

Lithuania joins Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (aka PÖFF) with a rich line-up and a growing delegation of Lithuanian film professionals. 12 Lithuanian films and co-productions will be screened at this year’s programme, with the world premiere of Jurgis Matulevičius’ debut film “Isaac” (lit. Izaokas) being one of the most awaited events.

Restored first colour Lithuanian film has its world premiere in Washington

As Lithuanian films are receiving more and more recognition at international film festivals, the Lithuanian film heritage is also being screened in various programs. On November 3rd the world premiere of the first colour Lithuanian film “March! March! Tra-ta-ta!” (lit. Marš! Marš! Tra-ta-ta!, 1964) by dir. Raimondas Vabalas took place at National Gallery of Art in Washington. The film was restored specially for this occasion.
