Today, at Marché du Film, the leaders of the Baltic film institutions have renewed the tripartite cooperation agreement signed in 2015, which foresees further co-production of Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian films, distribution of national films in neighbouring countries, and encourages cooperation in the framework of European audiovisual policy.

Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian film centers will continue to cooperate in the implementation of joint film promotion projects. Such cooperation was especially successful in 2018, when the three countries celebrated their Centennials. This year, it is planned to continue working together when organizing the Baltic Film Days in the capital cities, the Baltic Film Festival in New York, and to organize an exhaustive industry presentation at the Les Arcs Film Festival in France, as well as to have national pavilions at MIFA and Sunny Side of The Docs.

The Annex to the Treaty also establishes the Italy-Baltic development coproduction award by the Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian film centers. Until 2020 it will be annually awarded to the best project from the Baltic region of the Trieste coproduction forum When East Meets West. The three countries will also continue to co-found the prize for the best feature film of the Nordic Film Days in Lübeck.

This year the Lithuanian Film Center funded 6 co-productions with the neighbouring countries. Last year – 10 co-productions.
