THIRD SESSION OF EKRAN+ 2016 HAD STARTED! INTERNATIONAL GUESTS, 9 FILM SETS AND CONSULTATIONS WITH MASTERS OF CINEMA

The participants were able to invite the actors and DoPs from their countries to join them for the third session. The list of DoPs includes Mykola Yefimenko (Ukraine), Marek Dvořak (Czech Republic), Simonas Glinskis (Lithuania) and Gabriel Sandru (Switzerland). The cast will include Polish actors such as Olga Bołądź, Piotr Polak and Marcin Bosak as well as international actors headed by Sandra Voe – British film and theater actress and collaborator of Mike Leigh (“Naked”, “Vera Drake”) and Lars von Trier (“Breaking the Waves”).

On 20-28 June 2016 we’ve launched the third and last session of this year’s edition of EKRAN+, an international training program for filmmakers and film professionals. EKRAN+ 2016 hosts 9 teams from Crotia, Austria, Lithuania, Ukraine, Switzerland, Poland and Czech Republic. On the first day of the session, the participants will have a chance to evaluate their scenes shot during the previous session with Andrzej Wajda, Wojciech Marczewski, Denijal Hasanović and Ildikó Enyedi (Hungarian director, winner of Caméra d’Or in Cannes). Next they will visit film locations for their second scenes, develop their scripts, create storyboards, participate in rehearsals with actors. Individual consultations available exclusively to the participants ofEKRAN+ will be headed by Krzysztof Zanussi, master of Polish cinema and Marilyn Milgrom, a script consultant who worked on “A Syrian Love Story” (dir. Sean McAllister, EFA and BAFTA nominated), “Suffragette” (dir. Sarah Gavron), “Duke of Burgundy” (dir. Peter Strickland), “The Falling” (dir. Carol Morley).

Special events for this session are closed, special screenings available only to the EKRAN+2016 of rough cut versions of new films from Andrzej Wajda “Afterimages” and Ildikó Enyedi “Body & Soul”.

On 28 July the participants will present their scenes and evaluate their projects with EKRAN+ 2016 tutors.

The scenes shot during the third session of EKRAN+ are created to showcase the vision of the filmmakers participating in the programme (and their choice of actors, locations, set design and visual style) and can be used as a demo for future producers of the film, a visual lab that will accompany the production packet used for looking for funding for each project.
