Lithuanian co-production receive Eurimages funding

Eurimages, the Council of Europe’s film support fund, extended a grant of €100 000 to the film “Miracle“ directed by Eglė Vertelytė. The film is produced by In Script (Lithuania) and coproduced by Geopoly (Bulgaria).

In total Eurimages supported 14 European co-production projects during this session. A total of € 5 314 426 has been distributed.

The ‘Summer of Sangaile’ is in Cahiers du Cinéma’s Top 10 Films of 2015

Cahiers du Cinéma tends to release its annual Top 10. Alanté Kavaïté’s “The Summer of Sangaile” got a grand total of five combined votes among the 840 cast in the Sight & Sound poll.

World of locations: Lithuania

Sitting at the centre of Europe, vibrant Lithuania is making a name for itself as a cost-effective shooting location.

More than 100 foreign productions have been shot in Lithuania since Fred Weintraub discovered the territory’s locations for his The New Adventures Of Robin Hood series, which was broadcast in the US by TNT in the late 1990s.

Julija Steponaityte won best actress award at Stockholm Film Festival

It was the Norwegian director Joachim Trier who received the Bronze Horse at the award ceremony on Friday evening. Below are all the winners who were awarded at the Stockholm International Film Festival Award Ceremony.

This year’s Stockholm XXVI Competition jury is producer Mimmi Spång, director Peter Grönlund, director Christian Zübert, director Di Phan Dang, and director Arab Nasser.

Ilja Bereznickas awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award

During the official opening ceremony for Fredrikstad Animation Festival 2015, held at Litteraturhuset, Ilja Bereznickas was awarded the Golden Gunnar Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the Nordic-Baltic animation industry. Chairwoman Trine Vallevik Håbjørg presented Bereznickas with the award, highlighting the following as the reason for the board’s decision:
