Lithuanian filmmakers to participate in the Eurodoc training programme

Three Lithuanian filmmakers will take part in the Eurodoc programme this year: Inesa Ivanova and her project The Price of Freedom (Laisvės kaina), Tomas Tamošaitis and his Grey House (Pilkas namas), and Giedrė Žickytė with her Thanksgiving Day (Padėkos diena). They will introduce and refine their projects during the training session. The participants and lectors of the Eurodoc 2014 programme will look into the development of documentary projects; find out how to manage the complex processes of budgeting and funding, as well legal and technical issues of co-production; and search for opportunities to bid their projects to key European buyers in pitching sessions.

Eurodoc 2014 is a training programme developed with a focus on co-production of creative documentaries. It is a documentary think-tank covering a wide range of narrative styles and production methods.

This year the Eurodoc sessions in French and English will be held by Serge Lalou (producer, LES FILMS D’ICI, France) and Heino Deckert (producer and distributor, MA. JA. DE. Filmproduktion, Germany). Three sessions will take place in March, July and October 2014. The third session of Eurodoc 2014 will take place in Lithuania this year.

The programme aims to open up cooperation opportunities for the participants. Over 50 experts working in the fields of documentary production and funding help the attendees to better understand every aspect of film development.

Each year, 25 film professionals from European countries and beyond are selected to participate in the programme. Eurodoc 2014 is a network connecting over 750 professionals from 53 countries. 200 odd films have already been produced through this network.
