Lithuanian short animation “Guilt” screened at Annecy Animated Film Festival


Today, Reda Tomingas’ debut film “Guilt” will be screened at competition programme of the world’s most important and biggest animation festivals – Annecy Animated Film Festival. Tomorrow, the 12th of June, Lithuanian booth will open at The International Animation Film Market (Mifa).

Reda Tomingas’ film “Guilt” is the first Lithuanian film chosen for the competition programme of Annecy Animated Film Festival. It’s one of the most significant appreciations of Lithuanian animation internationally in recent years. Lithuanian film will compete with  51 other short films from all around the world

It is an important step to the whole Lithuanian animation industry proving that we have good ideas, we are interesting and we can compete in the international arena. Film “Guilt” tells a story of a lonely fox, who desires to isolate herself from the outer world. She enjoys to be tortured by her Guilt. But it’s not easy to be left alone with it as her personal space gets constantly invaded by the surroundings. While the fox’s small world crumbles, the Guilt just observes and continues to torment her hostess with uneasy dreams. The fox has to choose between madness and reconciliation.

Besides the screening of “Guilt”, Lithuanian animation will be represented at the International Animation Film Market (Mifa). Information about Lithuanian animation, production companies, meetings with animators will take place at Lithuanian Films Booth number 5.003. The booth is organised by Lithuanian Film Centre and Enterprise Lithuania.
